UK finance minister Philip Hammond said Monday that the UK will impose a new tax on those who produce or import plastic packaging with less than 30% of recycled materials.
The measure, which will be implemented after consultation in April 2022, aims to reduce waste and help combat climate change.
\"We will impose a new tax on the manufacture and import of plastic packaging containing less than 30% recycled plastic, which will change the economy of sustainable packaging,\" Hammond announced in its annual budget . \".
